This entry-level role involves processing insurance transactions, maintaining data integrity, and assisting with operational analysis and reporting.ResponsibilitiesProcess high volumes of download transactions accurately and in a timely mannerEnter and maintain financial and policy data across systems with a focus on accuracy and completenessProcess ADC corrections to ensure financial and data accuracy across platformsProcess refunds, chargebacks, and payment adjustments in accordance with company policiesApply cash receipts and premium payments to customer accounts as directed by the Accounting SpecialistInvestigate and resolve suspense items to maintain data integrity across systemsIdentify discrepancies in transaction data and collaborate with internal teams & carriers to resolve themComplete investigation-level suspense tasks requiring detailed, systematic analysisEscalate complex or unresolved items to leadership with clear documentation of findingsMaintain and run operational reports to support business visibility and decision-makingMonitor and distribute aging reports, flagging outstanding items for leadership reviewAssist with data pulls, formatting, and preparation of recurring and ad-hoc financial reportsIdentify patterns or anomalies in data and bring them to the attention of leadershipSupport data integrity efforts by auditing entries and reconciling records as assignedAssist with month-end and year-end close activities including reconciliation preparation and supporting schedulesMaintain organized, accurate records of all transactions and account activities to support audit readinessEnsure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls in all processing activitiesRespond to internal inquiries regarding transaction status, data questions, and account informationProvide cross-functional support across operations teams to meet shifting business demandsAssist with onboarding and training of new team members on systems and processing proceduresAdapt to changing priorities and workload fluctuations in a dynamic, high-volume environmentContribute to process improvement efforts by identifying inefficiencies and communicating suggestionsSkillsAssociate's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field requiredProficiency in Microsoft Excel including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and basic data analysisAbility to navigate and learn multiple systems quickly, including accounting and insurance management platformsFoundational understanding of accounting and accounts receivable principles including data entry, cash application, and transaction processingWorking knowledge of insurance transaction processing concepts including downloads, suspense items, and ADC correctionsAbility to manage high-volume, repetitive data processing tasks with consistent accuracy and attention to detailBasic understanding of financial reporting and the ability to run, maintain, and distribute operational reportsFamiliarity with insurance premium billing cycles and carrier structures at a foundational levelAnalytical mindset with ability to spot patterns and discrepancies in data and communicate findings clearlyStrong organizational habits with disciplined record-keeping and documentation practicesClear and professional written and verbal communication skills for internal team collaborationTeam-first approach with willingness to support colleagues, cross-train, and pitch in where neededSelf-motivated and dependable, with a commitment to accuracy, follow-through, and continuous learningBachelor's degree preferred1–2 years of experience in accounting, data entry, financial operations, or insurance processing preferredExperience with high-volume transaction or data processing in a professional environmentProperty & Casualty insurance experience a plusFamiliarity with agency management systems — Applied Epic preferredFamiliarity with accounting software (QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or similar) preferredBenefitsHealth, dental, vision, life, and disability insuranceFSA, HSA, and 401(k) accountsPaid-time-off benefitsCompany OverviewHUB International is an insurance brokerage company that offers employee benefits, business, and personal insurance products and services.
