Agile Product Owner - Analytics and Data Science II - Hybrid

About the position

This position is a leadership role within Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona, focusing on developing strategic plans for reporting and analyses in collaboration with key business partners and the Analytics & Data Science team. The leader is responsible for managing the product backlog, ensuring alignment with corporate strategic goals, and providing clarity to the team on priorities and tasks. This hybrid role requires residency in Arizona and involves significant interaction with diverse groups both inside and outside the organization.

Responsibilities
• Plan, direct, and coordinate projects to ensure goals and objectives are accomplished within prescribed time frames and funding parameters.

• Accountable for the product backlog and prioritization of user stories with team members.
,
• Work with translators and various departments to understand customer and product needs and vet requests prior to prioritizing with the team.
,
• Create business user stories and decompose features into user stories.
,
• Re-prioritize the Product Backlog based on customer feedback, market changes, and business priorities.
,
• Participate in Product Backlog grooming sessions, retrospectives, defect management, and project team's release planning sessions.
,
• Ensure that the Product Backlog is visible, transparent, and clear to all team members.
,
• Assist management in project support and resource planning.
,
• Facilitate and create new procedures and processes that support advancing technologies for the Analytics and Data Science team.

• Develop a deep understanding of customer and product needs.
,
• Serve as a recognized voice of the business to the team.
,
• Ensure traceability between requirements, features, and user stories.
,
• Create and deliver presentations.

Requirements
• 5 years of experience in healthcare or insurance field.
,
• 3 years of experience in a role with demonstrated ability to communicate with diverse groups of people.
,
• 2 years of experience in decomposing high-level initiative information and evaluating components to forecast work effort required.
,
• Bachelor's degree in a general field of study.
,
• Achievement of Agile Product Owner Certification within 12 months of placement.

Nice-to-haves
• 3 years of experience in healthcare analytics.
,
• 5 years of experience in healthcare or insurance field with emphasis on Business Analysis and/or Project Management.
,
• 3 years of experience working with Agile/Scrum work environments as a product owner.
,
• Bachelor's degree in business, Mathematics, Economics, Statistics or other related field.
