If you’re always looking for more efficient and innovative ways of working, are thoughtful, intentional, and collaborative, we would love to talk to you!The Accountant will be responsible for carrying out transaction activities and updating financial records while providing quality service to internal and external clients.WHAT YOU WILL DOReview and process daily transactionsPrepare journal entries and account analysisDaily reconciliation of corporate accountsMonthly reconciliation of balance sheet accountsCredit Card reconciliationsFile tax forms with local, state, and federal agenciesAssist with process and software implementationsAssist accounting team members and the Accounting Manager when necessaryEnsure all documentation is properly filed and maintainedOther duties as assignedQUALITIES FOR SUCCESS Anticipates issues and works to resolve before they escalateProactively asks for feedback and coaching; uses input to grow and improveDemonstrates ability to carry out and occasionally lead projects assigned to them while balancing day-to-day responsibilities Addresses issues with minimal interventionConsistently meets deadlines and project deliverablesEfficiently produces quality work product that align with varying levels of difficulty and turnaround timesDemonstrates excellent customer service skills to both internal and external audiencesDemonstrates commitment to SCU ValuesEstablishes and maintains collaborative relationships with all levels of teammates across the organizationMaintain regular and punctual attendanceAssists in the education of team members about department and team expectations and processesWHAT YOU WILL BRING:Basic Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent combination of education and experienceMinimum of 3 years of experience in accountingIntermediate to advanced excel skillsExcellent communication skillsKnowledge of GAAPA team player with a growth mindset who is organized, dependable, and adaptableWorking Conditions:This is a hybrid role. Equipment for remote work will be provided.Willing to travel to headquarters in Seattle, WA, as needed.Team members may attend special off-hour meetings and seminars.The nature of work may include prolonged sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Benefits:Seattle Credit Union supports and invests in our employees.
