Accountant

The Accountant role involves supporting financial consolidation, reporting, and internal controls while maintaining and reconciling general ledger accounts and assisting with the month-end close process. Responsibilities Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts and assist controller in preparation of monthly/quarterly consolidated financial statements Contribute to the month-end close process to ensure timely, accurate financial data that is in compliance with GAAP and accounting policies with the ability to communicate status and results Conduct fact checks, resolve discrepancies, gather and analyze information Prepare and audit financial reports Assist with year-end external audit Produce scheduled and ad hoc reports Perform other duties as assigned Comply with all policies and standards Skills Bachelor's Degree in accounting or related field 1-3 years of experience in financial reporting and internal controls Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) Exceptional attention to detail Self-starter and ability to work independently and balance multiple projects and processes simultaneously Excellent written and verbal communication/interpersonal skills Demonstrate strong attention to detail, thoughtful decision-making, sound problem-solving, sufficient time and project management skills Prior experience in public accounting or working with a fast-paced environment Certified Public Accountant (CPA) within 1 Year Collaborative and team-oriented work style Advanced proficiency with spreadsheet data manipulation and creation Experience in fast-paced, rapidly growing environment Benefits Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision benefits 401k plan and matches $1 for $1 up to 4% of earnings, matched & vested at every pay cycle Life insurance Short/long-term disability coverage Paid maternity/paternity leave Pet insurance Company Overview SanMar is a promotional apparel and wholesale supplier provides superior services and products.
