The Accountant will be responsible for financial statement preparation, budget planning support, and ensuring accuracy in financial reporting while maintaining communication with finance leadership.ResponsibilitiesRegularly communicate with FamilyLife finance leadership on sensitive financial topicsSupport and assist the Accountant Manager in the planning and implementation of the annual budget processResponsible for financial statement preparation, report creation and distributionResearch accounting issues and take corrective action to ensure accuracy of financial reportingPerform month end closing and accounts payable assistance, inventory reconciliations and process managementPerform general cost accounting and other related duties in the accounting departmentPrepare periodic (monthly) balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statementsMaintain the general ledgerCode invoices, set up new accounts, reconcile accounts, and close the monthly booksReconcile bank accounts at least monthly, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banksReconcile customer accounts and manages accounts receivable collectionsVerify payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accountsProvide outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual auditFile required tax forms with federal, state, and local government agenciesSkillsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline1-3 years of accounting experienceCompany OverviewFamilyLife is a non-profit, charitable group that helps couples stay married for a lifetime.
