Academic Support Opportunity: POOL - SELF Program Tutor at the University of Kansas
Empower Students to Succeed as a POOL - SELF Program Tutor at the University of Kansas, located in Lawrence, Kansas. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a POOL - SELF Program Tutor, providing academic support to SELF Fellows in various engineering courses. As a tutor, you will play a vital role in helping students achieve their academic goals and succeed in their studies.
This part-time, temporary position offers a competitive salary of at least $10.00 per hour, depending on qualifications, and a flexible schedule of less than 20 hours per week. Key Responsibilities:
Provide ongoing tutoring support to SELF Fellows in assigned courses, including Statics, Dynamics, Thermodynamics, advanced programming courses, and others
Work with students to identify areas of improvement and develop strategies for success
Maintain a consistent weekly schedule and be available to tutor during both fall and spring semesters
Requirements:
Must have taken the classes in which you are tutoring (or their equivalents) and have passed with a grade of B or better
Minimum cumulative KU GPA of 3.0
Excellent communication skills, professional demeanor, patience, and fluency in the English language
Ability to work a consistent weekly schedule
Enrolled in at least 6 credit hours during the semester term of the appointment (or meet one of the alternative enrollment requirements)
Preferred Qualifications:
Have taken the classes in which you will be tutoring (or their equivalents) and passed with a grade of A
Proficiency in multiple subjects
Prior experience in tutoring, teaching, or coaching
