All Jobs > Regional Sales Manager - MI & OH Aalberts Surface Technologies Apply Regional Sales Manager - MI & OH Fully Remote • Michigan, Ohio Apply Description Develop new sales opportunities, within the defined region to achieve company objectives for sales growth and profitability. Serve as a liaison between the plant staff and the customer. Strengthen relationships with existing customers to ensure continued sales growth opportunities within assigned territory, MI and OH. ESSENTIAL FUNCTION(S) OF THE POSITION: The duties listed below are specific duties and tasks that someone in this position must accomplish (i.e. why the job exists). These are the core responsibilities of the position and cannot be modified or eliminated. Meet or exceed established sales goals. Generate new sales opportunities with target customers and obtain requests for quotation. Forward RFQ’s to Cost Estimator promptly and serve as a liaison to clarify any issues. Build and maintain strong relationships with customers in assigned region(s). Build relationships with executive leadership team, plant, engineering, metallurgical, and purchasing personnel at key accounts to perpetuate confidence and trust in the company. Follow up on quotations for territory to secure opportunities and coordinate negotiations with the appropriate internal team members. Serve as a liaison between the customer and the company during product launch to clarify technical or logistical issues between the customer and plant quality or production teams. Utilize multiple sales and marketing channels including internet, cold calls and referrals. Meet with qualified prospects and customers at least 60% of the time. Document all prospect and customer activities, in detail, in the company CRM. Provide timely updates to leadership to keep the team up to date on current customer issues. Monitor the customer base and market for changing conditions. Make recommendations to management regarding sales trends and investment opportunities so that business preparations can be made. Complete periodic assessments of competition and document in CRM. Liaison between accounting team and customer to resolve customer payment issues. Communicate price adjustments to our customers. Prepare medium and long-term detailed sales forecasts each month. Use data available from ERP system to develop and analyze customer sales trends and budget deviations. Network at tradeshows, industry events, and trade associations. Maintain high level of industry knowledge and remain up to date on industry trends and issues. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned. KNOWLEDGE SKILLS / ABILITIES: Must be a self-starter and able to thrive in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment with the ability to work independently, set priorities, and organize work effectively. Hunter’s mentality; high energy, motivated and persistent. Relentless follow-up until the objective has been achieved. Demonstrate a complete understanding and technical comprehension of the processes offered by the company and the ideal target markets and products to be processed. Demonstrate a strategic mindset in managing both the assigned territory and time management. Comfortable prospecting, qualifying, presenting and closing opportunities in a highly competitive market. Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills. Demonstrates strong presentation skills. Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Sales, Marketing, Business or similar discipline. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proven results in creating new business opportunities and achieving aggressive sales growth. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software. Salesforce experience is a plus. Experience utilizing social media as a sales and marketing tool. At least 5 years of technical sales experience.
