Odyssey is supporting a large, enterprise migration and is building a team of 8-10 Operational Support Analysts to join on a six-month+ contract basis. The role will most likely extend in the long term and will be fully remote from anywhere in the United States... Please see below - recent 3+ years of experience supporting IBM iSeries systems is required.
Ā 3+ years of IBM iSeries operational or system administration experience
Ā Monitor software usage to identify obsolete IBM licensed operating system and LPP software.
Ā Backup all operating system and third-party system software libraries per the established processes.
Ā Monitor backup submission, startup, and processing.
Ā Confirm backups have been completed successfully.
Ā Respond to system alerts and critical errors using standard automation, monitoring, and incident management tools.
Ā Open incident tickets in the ServiceNow ITSM tool when critical events are identified.
Ā Provide first-level support and analysis for system error and exception messages as detected by automation and system monitoring facilities.
Ā Escalate and follow up on Hardware, Application, and Operating System errors, and exception messages as detected by automation following the incident management processes.
Ā Provide first-level resolution and/or escalate incidents and request tickets generated by automation.
Ā Monitor replication functions to ensure replicated objects remain synchronized between systems.
Ā Administer virtual tape management technology hardware and software.
Ā Provide automated message response to common messages that require a response.
Ā Perform system recycles (shutdown / IPL procedures) for Non-Production systems where appropriate as part of the backup process
