3GPP RAN Network Standards Architect

About the position

Responsibilities
• Support the RAN Spectrum and Radio Frequency network design from a Standards perspective.
• Ensure 4G, 5G, and Next Gen network Standards meet feature requirements and performance objectives.
• Conduct technology analysis and drive Verizon's strategic interests and objectives.
• Analyze, design, present, and defend Spectrum requirements and testing procedures.
• Develop relationships with external parties and influence direction in industry bodies.
• Serve as a 3GPP RAN Spectrum domain expert and represent Verizon at Plenary TSGs.
• Provide technical competence and influence with external contacts to ratify agreements and contributions.
• Drive requirements and contributions for simulations, transmission requirements, and reception parameters.
• Define requirements and test procedures for Base Station, Repeater, Relay, and Integrated Access Backhaul.
• Evaluate and author 3GPP technical contributions and drive Verizon's positions with operators and vendors.
• Support the development of a 1-5 year technology strategic view for Band combos and Carrier Aggregation.
• Demonstrate excellent working relationships with various internal teams.
• Mentor and guide other delegates and SMEs to increase technical competency.
• Independently manage complex technical projects and lead industry standard meetings.
• Influence Spectrum-related Standards work and align with FCC and ITU.
• Provide advanced leadership capabilities to advance initiatives and defend technical positions.

Requirements
• Bachelor's degree or four or more years of experience.
• Six or more years of relevant work experience.
• Willingness to travel up to approximately 25%-50% of the time.

Nice-to-haves
• Master's degree or Doctorate in engineering, computer science, telecommunications, or related field.
• Ten or more years of relevant work experience in RAN Spectrum.
• Proven Leadership experience in 3GPP and relevant Standards Bodies (ITU, CITEL, GSMA, ATIS).
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
