Litigation Immigration Paralegal
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Paralegal with strong experience in immigration litigation to join our team. The ideal candidate will support attorneys in preparing and filing complex immigration cases, with a focus on removal defense, federal litigation, and appellate work. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, excels at legal research and writing, and is passionate about advocating for immigrant communities.
Key Responsibilities
ā¢ Prepare, draft, and file immigration litigation matters, including:
ā¢ Motions, briefs, and court filings for EOIR (Immigration Court)
ā¢ USCIS responses (RFE, NOID, Appeals)
ā¢ BIA appeals
ā¢ Federal court filings (e.g., Habeas petitions, Mandamus actions), as applicable
ā¢ Maintain case calendars, deadlines, and client communication.
ā¢ Conduct legal research on case law, regulations, and procedural requirements.
ā¢ Organize and compile evidence for filings, including exhibits, indexes, and declarations.
ā¢ Assist attorneys during hearings and trial preparation.
ā¢ Communicate with clients to gather information, provide updates, and prepare affidavits.
ā¢ Manage case files in accordance with firm procedures and confidentiality standards.
Qualifications
ā¢ 5+ years of paralegal experience in immigration law; litigation experience required.
ā¢ Strong understanding of:
ā¢ Removal defense
ā¢ Motions practice
ā¢ EOIR procedures
ā¢ Asylum, cancellation of removal, waivers, and related relief
ā¢ Excellent writing, editing, and organizational skills.
ā¢ Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently.
ā¢ Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
