3D Designer
GENERAL SUMMARY:
This job is responsible for preparing detailed models and drawings of oilfield equipment facility designs and planning for mechanical, vessels and piping according to specifications provided by Engineering.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
ā¢ Work directly with design engineers to produce drawings from sketches, existing drawings, electronic images, and facility scans.
ā¢ Design parts based on written and verbal descriptions from design engineers.
ā¢ Work closely with all departments in the company to ensure that the drawings convey the correct information and are error free.
ā¢ Work from customer drawings, company drawings, government drawings or specifications.
ā¢ Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
ā¢ Oil & Gas Industry related drafting experience to include the following: Piping, Skids, ASME Code, Vessels and/or Oil & Gas Heater Systems
ā¢ Electrical drafting experience is a plus
ā¢ Able to interpret blueprints, piping ISOs and P&IDs is a plus
ā¢ Proven proficiency in 3D CAD software; Solidworks experience a plus
ā¢ Ability to design based off P&ID
ā¢ Strong mechanical design approach
ā¢ Ability to model complex piping systems
ā¢ Must be able to collaboratively work in a team environment
EDUCATION, LICENSES & EXPERIENCE:
ā¢ High school diploma or GED
ā¢ Associates degree; CAD certification with suitable experience may be substituted
ā¢ Three years of experience in 3D designing required
ā¢ Two years of experience with instrumentation and controls is a plus
ā¢ Two years of experience interpreting P&IDs is a plus

ā¢ Travel: Up to 25%, includes visits to existing facilities and construction sites primarily in the Permian Basin in Texas and New Mexico.
ā¢ Location: This position is based in Midland, Tx or remote in Dallas, Tx, Austin, Tx, San Antonio, Tx, or Tulsa, OK with periodic travel to Midland, Tx
