100% Remote - Partner - Specialty Insurance Underwriter
Location: 100% Remote must be located in US Salary: $200K -$250K base + equity shares (salary depends on experience) Position Overview The Commercial P&C Underwriter will be responsible for evaluating, underwriting, and managing property and casualty insurance risks for commercial clients. This role aims to ensure optimal coverage, pricing, and profitability while maintaining a high level of customer service and compliance with company policies. Key Responsibilities • Evaluate insurance applications and determine appropriate underwriting actions based on risk assessment and company guidelines. • Develop and maintain relationships with brokers and clients to facilitate the underwriting process. • Analyze risk factors and assess coverage needs for various commercial property and casualty insurance products. • Prepare and present underwriting recommendations and justifications to management and clients. • Monitor and manage an assigned portfolio of accounts to ensure profitability and retention rates meet company targets. • Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes affecting the underwriting process. • Collaborate with claims and actuarial departments to refine underwriting strategies and improve overall business performance. Qualifications • Demonstrated track record of producing underwriting profits and has broker relationships that would follow them • 25+ million current book • Proven experience as a Commercial Underwriter in the Property & Casualty insurance sector. Looking for a candidate with a very niche Specialty Insurance industry or coverage • 10+ years of Property & Casualty insurance experience • Looking for someone to build a niche program around • Strong understanding of underwriting principles and risk assessment techniques. • Familiarity with various insurance products, including homeowners' insurance and auto insurance. • Relevant certifications such as CPCU (Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter) are preferred. • Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients and brokers.
