Zscaler Security Architect ( Remote)

Job Title: Zscaler Security Architect Location: Remote Hire Type: Contract Overview We are looking for a highly skilled Network & Security Architect with strong expertise in Zscaler and Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA). This role focuses on designing, engineering, and implementing modern network architectures across data center, cloud, and campus environments. The ideal candidate has a proven track record in large enterprise networks and deep hands-on experience with Zscaler platform and network security technologies. Key Responsibilities 1. Design & Architecture • Develop scalable, secure network architectures for data center, cloud, and campus infrastructures. • Align designs with enterprise security policies, Zero Trust principles, and compliance frameworks. • Evaluate network technologies and recommend solutions that improve performance and security posture. 2. Implementation & Integration • Lead the design and deployment of Zscaler ZIA/ZPA or equivalent ZTNA solutions. • Partner with Security, Cloud, and Infrastructure teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical designs. • Drive end-to-end implementation activities including configuration, testing, migration, and cutover support. 3. Engineering & Operations • Engineer and maintain core network infrastructure supporting mission-critical workloads. • Diagnose and resolve network performance issues using monitoring, analytics, and proactive tuning. • Improve network resiliency, optimize routing/switching, and support SD-WAN and VPN platforms. 4. Collaboration & Documentation • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of security and network controls. • Create detailed documentation including high-level and low-level design (HLD/LLD), implementation plans, runbooks, and operational SOPs. • Provide technical leadership and guidance during architecture reviews and project planning. Required Skills & Experience Technical Skills • Strong background in designing and implementing modern enterprise network architectures. • Hands-on experience with Zscaler ZIA/ZPA or other ZTNA solutions. • Deep knowledge of routing, switching, firewalls, VPN, SD-WAN, and cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP). • Experience with network automation and scripting tools (Python, Ansible). • Solid understanding of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, IPSec, SSL, and network security fundamentals. Professional Experience • 7+ years in network engineering or network architecture roles. • Proven experience supporting large, distributed enterprise networks and hybrid cloud environments. Soft Skills • Strong communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills. • Ability to lead complex network/security initiatives and work across multiple teams. • Excellent problem-solving and analytical capabilities. Preferred Qualifications • Industry certifications: CCNP, CCIE, Zscaler Certified Professional, or equivalent. • Experience working with security frameworks, compliance standards, and Zero Trust models. • Familiarity with automation pipelines and infrastructure-as-code methodologies.
