The Unemployment Insurance (UI) division at the IDOL is currently recruiting for two full-time Claims Specialists (Workforce Consultant). These positions are instrumental in administering and navigating Idaho's unemployment benefits program. The ideal candidate will have strong oral and written communication skills, excellent problem-solving and organizational skills, a dedication to quality customer service, and the ability to work independently. This position will work primarily in the UI tax division. Location: Will be determined upon selection of the successful candidate. Example of Duties: Provide business and claim customers with detailed and clear instructions regarding the unemployment insurance processes and their rights and responsibilities. Review claims to determine unemployment insurance eligibility. Utilize effective interviewing skills to obtain sensitive information from business and claim customers. Issue eligibility determinations. Conduct data mining activities. Review unemployment insurance claims and supporting documentation to identify potentially fraudulent activity, eligibility issues, or overpayment issues. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: You must possess all the minimum qualifications below to pass the exam for this position. You must attach a resume, work history and references to your application. Experience conducting interviews and documenting information. Typically requires one year of experience OR six months of work experience conducting interviews and documenting information AND six credit hours of college coursework in which effective use of communications skills was clearly emphasized. Experience assisting emotional, difficult or confrontational people and individuals from varying socio/economic/cultural backgrounds. Experience using computer applications. Typically requires six months of experience using computer applications, including experience using Microsoft Office Suite.
