Workers’ Compensation Legal Adjuster (MD & FL Claims)

We’re seeking a skilled Workers’ Compensation Legal Adjuster to take ownership of a dedicated caseload involving Maryland and Florida claims. Key responsibilities In this role, you’ll manage the full life cycle of complex workers’ compensation claims, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and exceptional service throughout. Key responsibilities include: • Evaluate claims, statutes, and case law in MD & FL to determine compensability, exposure, and reserves. • Lead investigations, assign defense counsel, and manage litigation strategy. • Issue timely indemnity payments and complete all required state and EDI filings. • Monitor medical treatment with Nurse Case Managers and review/approve medical bills promptly. • Support return-to-work efforts, including vocational rehab, light duty, and accommodation coordination. • Maintain strong client communication, attend meetings as needed, and ensure service satisfaction. • Identify red flags, fraud indicators, and subrogation or recovery opportunities. Required Experience • 3–5 years of Lost Time/Legal workers’ compensation claims experience • Current Florida Adjuster or Workers’ Compensation License, with up-to-date CE credits • Strong background in claim settlements, negotiation, and litigation support • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite • A proactive, self-driven work style with strong follow-through and attention to detail Preferred Experience • Handling presumption claims • Participation in depositions, mediations, and complex litigation • Familiarity with IDatix, ISO, Reference Books/Periodicals, Workers Computation, ShoreTel, or similar platforms Apply tot his job
