Workday Financial Data Model (FDM) Lead

Title: Workday Financial Data Model Lead (FDM) Location : 100% remote Target Start Date : Immediate Type: (C, CTH, D) : Contract to hire Pay Rate / Salary (Ranges OK) : $150k-$175k depending on experience Overview: We are seeking a Workday Financial Data Model (FDM) / Accounting Lead to guide the design, implementation, and optimization of the Workday Financials chart of accounts and related accounting structures. This role will ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance, and integration with downstream systems. Responsibilities: • Lead design and governance of the Workday Financial Data Model (FDM), including hierarchies, ledgers, and accounting structures. • Partner with Finance and Accounting stakeholders to align Workday configuration with business requirements and regulatory needs. • Define mapping strategies and validation rules for financial data integrity across modules. • Support integrations between Workday Financials and external ERP/GL/tax systems. • Provide thought leadership on accounting best practices and reporting structures in Workday. • Mentor and guide junior consultants or internal team members on FDM design. Qualifications: • 5+ years of Workday Financials experience, with specialization in FDM and Accounting. • Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and account reconciliations. • Prior experience in the Financial Services or Insurance Brokerage industry preferred. • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
