An exciting opportunity is available for a licensed Social Worker to provide leave coverage support in a K-12 school setting via telehealth and on-site services. This contract role offers a meaningful chance to support students social, emotional, and behavioral health during the school year, with the potential for extension through the full academic year. Key responsibilities include assessing the social, emotional, behavioral, and academic needs of students through interviews, observations, and assessments. Delivering individual and group counseling sessions aimed at addressing concerns such as anxiety, grief, trauma, social skills deficits, conflict resolution, and behavioral challenges is essential. Developing tailored intervention plans and tracking student progress contributes to positive outcomes. Additionally, the role involves crisis intervention, de-escalation, and conducting risk assessments related to suicide and self-harm. Collaboration with parents and school staff, including updating Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), forms an important part of this position. Qualifications and desired experience: • Licensed Social Worker (SSW) credential in California • Experience working with K-12 students in school settings • Skilled in conducting assessments and providing counseling services • Ability to manage crisis situations with sensitivity and professionalism • Strong collaboration skills with educators, parents, and external partners • Familiarity with various disabilities and special education processes Location and Schedule: • Position based in California serving students remotely and on-site as needed • Full-time schedule, approximately 37.5 hours per week • Contract duration initially December through April, with possibility to extend through end of school year This role provides an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of students by supporting their social and emotional well-being in a supportive school environment.
