This is a fully remote role designed for independent contractors.
Key Responsibilities
Ā Accurately transcribe audio recordings from depositions, hearings, and other judicial proceedings.
Ā Follow specified style guides to produce verbatim transcripts with precision.
Ā Maintain exceptional attention to detail while interpreting complex legal terminology.
Required Skills
Ā Proven experience with legal transcription, court reporting, or scoping is essential.
Ā Superior listening and literacy skills, encompassing comprehension, spelling, and grammar.
Ā Strong typing proficiency with emphasis on both speed and accuracy.
Ā Capability to collaborate effectively in a remote environment.
Ā Ability to adhere strictly to deadlines and customized client style guides.
Ā Familiarity with handling sensitive audio/text content (may be offensive).
Ā Successful completion of a background check is mandatory.
Qualifications
Ā Significant prior experience transcribing depositions and hearings.
Ā Knowledge of legal terminology is advantageous.
Ā Court reporting students may also be eligible for consideration.
Ā Currently, this position is not open to residents of Massachusetts or California.
