WordPress/WooCommerce Developer – Custom Build, Alternative Payments

Project Overview

I am seeking an experienced WordPress/WooCommerce developer to build a small, self-hosted eCommerce website from the ground up.

This is NOT a Shopify, Wix, or SaaS-based build. The site must be fully self-hosted with complete ownership of hosting, files, and database.

The website will initially consist of:

• Homepage

• About / Information page

• Single Product / Purchase page

While the page count is small, this project requires strong WooCommerce expertise and flexible payment integration.

Clean architecture, security, and long-term flexibility are more important than visual complexity.

Scope & Deliverables

The selected developer will be responsible for:

• Hosting configuration (in my name)

• Fresh self-hosted WordPress installation

• WooCommerce setup and configuration

• Theme implementation (custom or lightweight optimized theme)

• Product setup (single product initially)

• Secure checkout configuration

• Integration of alternative / non-standard payment gateway

• SSL setup

• Basic on-page SEO structure

• Mobile optimization

• Performance optimization

• Security hardening

• Clean admin setup with documentation

Final deliverable must include:

• Full admin access

• All credentials

• Clean, organized backend

• Working payment processing in live mode

• Brief walkthrough (recorded or live) of site management

Payment Integration Requirements

This project requires experience beyond standard Stripe or PayPal setup.

Developer must be comfortable with:

• Alternative or high-risk merchant gateway integration

• API-based payment configurations

• Structuring checkout to allow future gateway changes

• Optional integration of crypto or manual payment workflows

Experience integrating non-mainstream payment processors is strongly preferred.
