We are looking for a WordPress Developer (Freelance/Contract) to join our team. In this role, you will work on building and maintaining WordPress-based web properties with a strong focus on clean markup, page performance, and SEO best practices. You will collaborate with our design and marketing teams to deliver fast, well-structured websites that rank and convert. We're looking for someone who takes ownership of their work and can operate independently with minimal hand-holding. Key Responsibilities Develop and customize WordPress themes and plugins according to design specifications Write clean, semantic HTML/CSS with attention to cross-browser compatibility and mobile responsiveness Implement and maintain on-page SEO: meta tags, structured data, page speed optimization, Core Web Vitals Integrate and configure SEO plugins (Yoast, Rank Math, etc.) and analytics tools (GA4, GTM) Work with page builders (Elementor, Gutenberg) where required without sacrificing code quality Collaborate with internal stakeholders to clarify requirements and deliver on time Maintain existing WordPress sites: updates, security patches, performance audits Requirements 3+ years of commercial WordPress development experience Strong HTML/CSS skills — pixel-accurate markup, no heavy reliance on drag-and-drop Solid understanding of on-page and technical SEO fundamentals Experience with page speed optimization (caching, image compression, lazy loading, CDN setup) Familiarity with Git and basic deployment workflows Ability to read and write code without a page builder as a crutch Nice to Have Experience with WooCommerce Basic PHP / JavaScript knowledge for custom functionality Familiarity with performance tools: Lighthouse, GTmetrix, PageSpeed Insights What we offer Remote Competitive compensation Flexible working hours: we start our operation day between 9:00 — 11:00 CET All necessary equipment Paid vacation and sick leaves Company events and multiple internal activities Open feedback and transparent direct communication Privacy Notice:
