Position: WordPress Architect Location: 100% Remote Duration: 12+ Months Contract Job Description: Requirements • Expertise in PHP, WordPress Core, custom themes, and plugin development. • Strong experience with WordPress multisite and block editor (Gutenberg) customization. • Deep understanding of performance optimization: object caching, page caching, lazy loading, asset bundling. • Experience solving cache/CDN challenges (e.g., Cloudflare) and implementing cache-busting strategies. • Familiarity with REST APIs, GraphQL, and headless WordPress (e.g., Next.js, Gatsby). • Knowledge of hosting platforms like WP Engine, Kinsta, or AWS/CloudFront. • Comfortable working with CI/CD pipelines, Git workflows, and deployment automation. • Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration skills. Nice to Have • Experience with Contentful, Strapi, or transitioning from WordPress to headless CMS. • Familiarity with accessibility (WCAG) and SEO best practices at scale. • Experience supporting multi-language or geo-targeted content across regions or brands.
