Website Developer (WooCommerce)
Part-Time or Contract | Remote

Hammock Gear is seeking an experienced website developer with strong WooCommerce skills to help us maintain, improve, and expand our e-commerce site. This is a part-time or contract position with flexible hours and remote work. The workload will vary depending on current projects; expect anywhere from 5 to 25 hours per week in the early stages as we work through a substantial backlog of development tasks.

Responsibilities
• Develop, maintain, and optimize WooCommerce product pages, templates, and site functionality
• Troubleshoot plugin conflicts, display issues, and backend logic
• Implement updates related to product variants, pricing logic, and data-driven features
• Assist in improving site speed, caching, and performance on our hosting environment
• Create or update custom plugins as needed for workflow and product logic
• Work with spreadsheets, product data, and structured databases as part of data-driven feature development
• Collaborate with our team to scope, plan, and prioritize upcoming improvements
• Provide clear communication, consistent updates, and reliable timelines

Requirements
• Strong proficiency with WooCommerce and WordPress development
• Ability to build and troubleshoot custom templates and plugin functionality
• Solid understanding of PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and MySQL
• Experience with database-driven features or product data management is a major plus
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Reliable availability for part-time or fluctuating hours

Compensation
• Hourly rate based on experience
• Remote, flexible scheduling
• 1099 contractor or part-time employment structure available
