Job Summary This is a part-time position working 20 hours/week, with the flexibility to work remotely. As a Web Content Editor, you will be responsible for reviewing and editing content on our Drupal CMS, producing and sending our weekly employee newsletter, and assisting internal users with their content needs. You will be an integral part of our digital team, working closely with stakeholders to ensure that our online presence is accurate, accessible, and engaging. Key Responsibilities Review and edit content on our Drupal CMS, ensuring proper grammar, style, and accessibility Approve content for publication, with responsibility for ensuring that all content meets our quality standards Work with internal users to achieve their content goals, providing guidance on Drupal CMS, design, SEO, and layout optimization Compile content for our weekly employee newsletter, The Loop, and prepare it for sending using GovDelivery software Understand the requirements and complexity of government websites, including accessibility, usability, and readability Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure that our online presence is accurate, up-to-date, and engaging Essential Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., communications, journalism, English) 2+ years of experience with content editing, preferably on a website or CMS platform Familiarity with website CMS systems, with Drupal experience preferred Knowledge of email marketing software, with experience creating newsletters preferred Excellent command of the English language, with an appreciation for clear writing and adherence to correct grammar and style Preferred Qualifications Associate's degree with 4+ years of similar experience Experience with government websites or CMS platforms Knowledge of accessibility guidelines and best practices Experience with design, SEO, and layout optimization Skills and Competencies Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a remote team Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits As a Web Content Editor with the City of Raleigh, you will have opportunities to grow and develop your skills in a dynamic and supportive environment.
