VP, Global Controller - Up to $300k

About the position Our client is a publicly listed media and entertainment company that is seeking an accounting leader to join their teams as a (VP) Global Controller. This position offers a competitive compensation package ranging from $225k to $300k, along with a 30% bonus and equity. The role follows a hybrid working model, requiring 2 days in the office. Responsibilities • Oversee all global accounting functions, including consolidation, reporting, and compliance with US GAAP. • Manage the preparation and review of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and timeliness for quarterly and annual reporting. • Coordinate global financial audits, serving as the primary liaison with external auditors and ensuring compliance with all audit requirements. • Develop and implement global accounting policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency and maintain robust internal controls. • Lead and mentor a global finance team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and support strategic decision-making. • Monitor financial performance across all regions/business units, identifying trends and areas for improvements. • Oversight of M&A integrations and ERP system improvement. • Drive the month-end close process and seek continuous improvement in the rigor, speed, and accuracy of reporting. Requirements • Bachelor's (or Master's) degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. • CPA is required (inactive license, okay). • 15 years minimum experience, with at least 2 years as a controller for a publicly listed company with revenue exceeding $100M. • Preference for experience within media and entertainment, but not required. • Big 4 background is required. • Experience implementing an ERP system. • Extensive knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
