The Chrysalis Program seeks to reduce or eliminate the effects of childhood trauma for African American girls and their families on Chicago's South Side and beyond.
The Chrysalis Program creates safe spaces for girls to heal, learn and grow by offering Wellness Workshops, Counseling, Life Skill Classes, Creative Arts Lessons, Parent Classes, Enrichment Field Trips, Mentorship and Community... Events.
The Chrysalis Program is unique because it takes a holistic approach to empowering; teaching both life skills and coping skills that gradually improves the quality of life for participants and their families.
Position Volunteer Coordinator - Volunteer Role

Time Commitment Flexible, approximately 3-10 hours per week.
Position Overview
The Chrysalis Program is seeking a passionate and organized Volunteer Coordinator who will volunteer their time to ensure the seamless integration and engagement of volunteers within our organization. This unique role combines the responsibilities of coordinating volunteers while actively participating in volunteer activities.
Key Responsibilities
Β Volunteer Recruitment and Onboarding
Β Actively recruit new volunteers through various channels.
Β Conduct volunteer orientations and facilitate the onboarding process.
Β Communication and Coordination
Β Serve as the main point of contact for volunteers, addressing inquiries and providing necessary information.
Β Coordinate volunteer schedules and assignments in collaboration with program leads.
Β Training and Support
Β Provide training sessions for volunteers, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills.
Β Offer ongoing support to volunteers, addressing any concerns or challenges.
Β Volunteer Recognition
Β Implement strategies for recognizing and appreciating volunteers.
Β Organize appreciation events or initiatives to acknowledge the contributions of volunteers.
Β Data Management
Β Maintain accurate records of volunteer information, hours, and activities.
Β Generate reports on volunteer engagement for organizational review.
Β Active Volunteering
Β Participate in volunteer activities alongside other volunteers.
Β Demonstrate commitment to the organization's mission through hands-on involvement.
Qualifications
Β Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Β Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of volunteers.
Β Previous experience in volunteer coordination or related fields is a plus.
