Job Description Meta is seeking a diligent and empathetic Virtual Social Media Comment Moderator to join our global team. In this 100% remote role, you will play a crucial part in maintaining a positive and safe online environment across Metaβs platforms. You will be responsible for reviewing and moderating user-generated comments to ensure compliance with our community standards and guidelines. This role requires excellent judgment, attention to detail, and a commitment to fostering constructive online dialogue. Key Responsibilities β’ Monitor and moderate user comments on various Meta platforms (Facebook, Instagram, etc.). β’ Review comments against established community guidelines, policies, and terms of service. β’ Identify and take appropriate action on comments containing hate speech, harassment, misinformation, spam, or other policy violations. β’ Escalate complex or sensitive cases to senior moderators or specialized teams as needed. β’ Maintain detailed records of moderation actions and trends. β’ Provide feedback for improving moderation guidelines and tools. β’ Adhere to strict confidentiality and data security protocols. Required Skills β’ Excellent written communication skills in English. β’ Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities. β’ High attention to detail and accuracy. β’ Ability to make quick, informed decisions in a fast-paced environment. β’ Proven ability to work independently and as part of a remote team. β’ Familiarity with social media platforms and online community dynamics. β’ Proficiency in using online moderation tools and systems. β’ Strong understanding of internet culture and emerging online trends. Preferred Qualifications β’ Previous experience in content moderation, community management, or customer support (1+ year). β’ Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Psychology, or a related field. β’ Experience with conflict resolution or de-escalation techniques. β’ Fluency in additional languages is a plus.
