Virtual Medical Assistant - Mississippi

Remote Full-time
About the position Become a part of our caring community and help us put health first. We are excited to offer the role of Virtual Medical Assistant for a new virtual care delivery group within CenterWell Senior Primary Care, Humana's Primary Care Organization. This group will provide virtual/hybrid wraparound services to support patients when they cannot get in with their own PCP - closing gaps in care, ensuring timeless access to important medications and solving urgent clinical needs. We will be serving patients in Texas, Florida, and Mississippi and we are looking for a Medical Assistant who shares in our vision to innovate on primary care for the next generation of seniors and is eager to take excellent care of these patients each and every day! This role will support both virtual and in-person patient care by assisting with telehealth visits, remote patient coordination, and in-home or in-clinic duties to enhance the patient experience. The Medical Assistant performs clinical duties such as discussing symptoms, obtaining vital signs, medication review, coordinating the collection of specimens and performing diagnostic screening tests and documenting information into the electronic medical records system. Collaborates closely with Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers. Delivers direct patient care dependent on what active certification allows. Decisions typically focus on interpretation of area/department policy and methods for completing assignments. Works within defined parameters to identify work expectations and quality standards, but has latitude over prioritization/timing, and works under minimal direction. Follows standard policies and procedures that allow opportunity for interpretation/deviation and/or independent discretion. We support our associates in becoming happier, healthier, and more productive in their professional and personal lives. We promote lifelong well-being by giving our associates fresh perspectives, new insights, and exciting opportunities to grow their careers. Our culture is focused on teamwork and providing a positive and welcoming environment for all. We provide best in class support for providers from ambient AI documentation tools to best in class patient and population health management tools to make doing the right thing for your patients as seamless as possible.
