Vice President of Development - Houston, TX - full relocation

About Us: We're a top-notch independent power producer and service provider with over 30 years in the game. We specialize in grid-scale power (wind, solar, storage), distribution-scale power, asset optimization, and onsite solutions.

Role: Vice President of Development, Houston, TX

Key Responsibilities:
Ā• Develop and execute multi-year utility-scale project plans.
Ā• Oversee regional development activities, managing a pipeline of 2-5GW.
Ā• Negotiate and finalize project studies, agreements, and permits.
Ā• Collaborate with various departments to support project progression.
Ā• Manage regional budget ($15-20M) and ensure project commercialization.
Ā• Approve purchase requests and expenses within spending limits.
Ā• Implement and supervise internal controls.

Team Leadership:
Ā• Lead a high-performing team to identify and manage renewable energy projects.
Ā• Directly supervise 5 team members, with 20 under regional leadership.

Working Conditions:
Ā• Hybrid three-day company work schedule when not traveling 25-50%.
Ā• You set and determine your travel schedule.
Ā• Engage in meetings virtually and in person for strategic planning, financial reviews, and more in Houston and at two other US offices.
Ā• Execellent relocation package.

Qualifications:
Ā• 15+ years of development experience in utility scale power.
Ā• Experience directing large teams.
Ā• Bachelor's degree required: Business, Economics, Engineering, or Mathematics. MBA is a strong plus.
Ā• Deep knowledge of the energy sector, especially renewable energy.
Ā• Proven track record in closing renewable energy deals.
Ā• Strong existing relationships with utilities, developers, and government reps.
Ā• Excellent prioritization, communication, and organizational skills.
Ā• Quick adaptability to new tasks and dynamic environments.
