With headquarters in Bedford, MA and offices in Cambridge, MA, the Company is pursuing an entirely new approach to treating severe diseases, with an initial focus on diseases of the central nervous system and the eye, and an emphasis on diseases caused by a loss of about half of the normal protein levels (haploinsufficiencies). Stoke’s lead investigational product, zorevunersen, is in development as a first-in-class potential disease modifying treatment for Dravet syndrome and the Company initiated a global Phase 3 registrational study (EMPEROR) in Q2 2025. Dravet syndrome is a rare genetic epilepsy associated with refractory seizures and neurodevelopmental impairments. Overview: Stoke Therapeutics is seeking an experienced and strategic corporate legal leader to join its team as Vice President, Head of Corporate Legal (“VP, Legal”). Reporting into the General Counsel, the VP, Legal will be responsible for working collaboratively across the Stoke organization, managing a wide range of corporate legal responsibilities, including overseeing general corporate contracting, providing legal support for Stoke’s current and upcoming clinical trials and growth towards a commercial organization, driving legal support for operational functions, including HR, partnering with the General Counsel on all public company securities and reporting matters, and managing a small legal team. Experience: The successful candidate will have a J.D. and 10+ years of legal experience, ideally including both law firm training and in-house experience at a small to mid-sized biotechnology company. Broad-based corporate and transactional legal experience negotiating a wide range of agreements in the biotech and/or pharma industries, including clinical trial related agreements is required. Demonstrated success driving cross-functional legal strategy and support required. Experience advising a publicly-traded company on SEC compliance and reporting matters and/or advising a biotechnology company on commercial legal matters are a plus. Location/Relocation: Bedford, MA. This position is a hybrid position encompassing 2-3 days in office in Stoke’s Bedford, MA location. Compensation: Commensurate with experience. The package includes base salary and benefits.
