Vertical Sales Engineer I, Spectrum Business

Spectrum is a leading provider of communication and entertainment products, and they are seeking a Sales Engineer I to partner with sales teams and clients to design innovative solutions for Managed Services and networking. The role involves assessing customer needs, delivering strategic proposals, and providing technical support throughout the installation and integration process.ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with sales teams and clients to assess network environments and business requirements, shaping strategic, cost-effective solutions for data, voice and video needsDesign and present network solutions for voice and data applications, preparing specifications, topologies and conceptual designs for review and costingConduct site surveys and provide technical sales support, documentation and guidance throughout installation and integration to ensure client satisfactionCoordinate with Finance and internal teams on solution pricing and approvals, compiling cost elements and ensuring proposals meet both technical and business objectivesDeliver technical training and support to sales and account personnel, maintaining expertise in Spectrum products, services and emerging industry trendsSupport the development and launch of new products and services, handle complex technical questions during installation and integrationEnsure compliance with company policies and contribute to special projects as assignedSkillsAssociate's degree or equivalent training, education and experience, preferably focused on Information Technology or Telecommunications Engineering Technology or equivalent work experience1+ year of sales engineering and networking experience in the telecom or service provider industryFoundational ability to design and implement small to medium WAN solutions for up to 20 sites using SD-WAN, Ethernet and legacy network technologiesWorking knowledge of corporate data security systems including Firewalls, VPNs, DNS and routing, switching and security protocols such as BGP, ISIS, OSPF, RIP, CoS/QoS and emerging technologiesUnderstanding of networking concepts including VPN, TCP/IP, IP VPN, MPLS, VPLS, DWDM, CWDM and converged multimedia applicationsFoundational experience in Unified Communications and voice signaling protocols such as SIP and VoIP for hosted and premises-based solutionsSkilled in multitasking, collaborating with sales managers and executives to drive results and enhance customer experienceStrong verbal and written communication, presentation and proposal design skillsProficient in MS Visio, Word, Excel and PowerPointValid Driver's License with satisfactory driving record and insurance coverageBachelor's degree or technical equivalent in related field3+ years of experience in Sales Engineering, Network Engineering, Value Added Reseller, network administration or other relevant telecom rolesCertifications in data networking, WANs, voice communications or security from providers such as ISC, Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto or JuniperAbility to present service designs clearly, articulating benefits and outcomesCompany OverviewSpectrum is a cable telecommunications company that offers a range of home entertainment and information services.
