Venture Fund Accountant - New Ventures and Strategic Alliances

The Venture Fund Accountant will manage financial records for venture capital funds, ensuring accurate reporting and compliance while supporting investment decisions. Responsibilities Maintain accurate financial records for venture capital funds, including tracking investments, expenses, and returns Calculate and reconcile the fair value and fair value return for all active direct and indirect investments based on valuations defined in sequential financing, updated cap tables, and quarterly capital statements Prepare and distribute periodic financial statements, reports, and presentations for the Investment Committee (IC), Finance, Accounting and Audit Assist in annual accounting and audit activities by collecting requested documentation, K-1s, etc. and liaising with internal accounting and audit teams Ensure compliance with accounting standards and legal requirements, maintaining the operational integrity of the fund Track and maintain a record of deal flow/deals sourced, track and update KPIs across the portfolio, soliciting and collecting biannual updates from portfolio companies for records and updates to the IC Communicate upcoming financings to Treasury, prepare closing package and wire form for direct and indirect investments Assist with deal pro formas, as applicable Skills Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business 1 or more years of experience in accounting or investment funds 1 or more years of experience with Excel 3 or more years of experience in accounting or investment funds 3 or more years of experience with Excel Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation Benefits Medical Dental Vision Life STD/LTD 401(k) Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO) Tuition Reimbursement Employee Stock Purchase Plan Relocation assistance available Company Overview Fortrea is a provider of comprehensive Phase I through IV clinical trial management, clinical pharmacology, patient access solutions.
