Vendor Resource Management Coding Lead

Responsibilities
ā¢ Perform concurrent and retrospective quality reviews of vendor ICD-10 Diagnosis and PCS Code/CPT/DRG/abstracting assignments.
ā¢ Compile and report results to enhance quality outcomes.
ā¢ Prepare and provide coder specific education based on audit outcomes and trends.
ā¢ Assist the VRM Manager with vendor management including monitoring processes and services for improvement.
ā¢ Analyze weekly/monthly quality data to identify trends by vendor and coder/auditor.
ā¢ Prepare and present coder education as needed based on trends and/or problematic areas.
ā¢ Collate and present quality trends and findings to the VRM management team, Vendor teams, and Parallon stakeholders.
ā¢ Monitor and ensure vendor staff adhere to coding guidelines and policies.
ā¢ Demonstrate and apply expert level knowledge of medical coding practices and concepts.
ā¢ Assist in managing coding vendor daily workflow.
ā¢ Perform quality reviews of inpatient and/or outpatient records as needed.
ā¢ Validate accuracy of codes assigned by CAC (Computer Assisted Coding) tool.
ā¢ Monitor and assist the vendors in the monthly random, focus, prebill review, and Ad Hoc quality review process.
ā¢ Submit and review coding appeals as appropriate.
Requirements
ā¢ High School diploma required.
ā¢ Undergraduate degree in HIM/HIT D preferred.
ā¢ Management/Supervisory experience in healthcare related field preferred.
ā¢ Minimum of 2 years acute care inpatient and/or outpatient coding experience required.
ā¢ Coding auditing/monitoring experience strongly preferred.
ā¢ RHIA, RHIT and/or CCS required.
