Vendor Management Lead

About the position

The Vendor Management Lead serves as a crucial liaison between vendors and the organization, focusing on managing vendor relationships and performance within the Humana Military Contract Management team. This role involves addressing complex issues, making technical decisions, and ensuring compliance and risk management. The Vendor Management Lead is responsible for monitoring vendor performance, generating KPI reports, and resolving operational issues, while also coaching a team of senior vendor professionals.

Responsibilities
• Monitor performance for assigned vendors, including generating KPI reporting and conducting risk assessments.

• Own relationship management and governance programs for assigned vendors.
,
• Coach and mentor a team of senior vendor professionals.
,
• Serve as escalation liaison for vendor operational and performance issues, driving accountability to resolution.
,
• Develop vendor Statements of Work and participate in proposal review and vendor vetting activities.

Requirements
• U.S. citizenship required due to Department of Defense Contract.
,
• Interim approval for government security clearance (NBIS) is necessary.
,
• Bachelor's degree is required.
,
• Familiarity with Subcontract terms and conditions is essential.
,
• 2 years of experience managing staff is required.
,
• 5 years of experience in a health care, health insurance setting or DOD contracting environment is necessary.
,
• 5 years of relationship management experience, including conflict resolution and corrective action plan management, is required.
,
• Experience with process improvement, project leadership, and/or risk management is essential.
,
• 2 years of project leadership experience is required.

Nice-to-haves
• Experience with reporting tools such as Tableau, Power Bi, Excel is preferred.
,
• Federal Government Contracts Background is a plus.
