UX/UI Designer

Job Description: About You As a UX/UI Designer you operate across both experience and interface design, creating intuitive, scalable, and visually consistent solutions. You take ownership of interaction patterns, contribute to design systems, and make design decisions grounded in user needs and accessibility. You are proactive, challenge assumptions, and continuously identify opportunities to improve the user experience while collaborating with cross-functional teams. You Bring to Applaudo the Following Competencies Bachelor’s degree in Interaction Design, UX/UI Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Service Design, or related field (or equivalent experience). Bilingual proficiency (English and Spanish). 3–5+ years of experience designing interfaces for complex digital products. Strong proficiency in Figma, including auto-layout, component architecture, prototyping, and file structure. Solid understanding of visual design principles (typography, layout, color, iconography, and spacing). Experience working within and contributing to design systems. Strong knowledge of UX principles, including interaction design, usability heuristics, and flow design. Experience conducting user research (interviews, usability testing, surveys) and translating insights into design decisions. Strong communication skills, with the ability to present and defend design decisions to stakeholders and teams. Proactive mindset, identifying UX improvements without waiting for direction. Knowledge of accessibility standards and responsive design best practices. Experience using AI tools in the design process and identifying opportunities to improve workflows. Awareness of cognitive biases in design decisions (e.g., confirmation bias, anchoring). Basic understanding of HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript frameworks (nice to have). Knowledge of prompt engineering (nice to have). Advanced English proficiency, working with distributed teams and stakeholders. You Will Be Accountable for the Following Responsibilities: Collaborate with Product and Design teams to identify and propose user-centered product improvements. Design user flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity mockups for well-defined and moderately complex problems. Challenge requirements and propose better user-centered solutions when needed. Contribute to and maintain the design system, ensuring consistency and identifying gaps. Conduct and support UX research activities, including usability testing and synthesis of findings. Define interaction patterns, feedback states, and error-handling flows. Collaborate with engineers to ensure high-quality UI implementation. Communicate design solutions clearly to developers and stakeholders. Participate in design reviews, present work, and iterate based on feedback. Use available data and product metrics to inform design decisions. Contribute to design guidelines, best practices, and standards. Stay up to date with UI trends, technologies, and design practices. Use AI tools autonomously and contribute to improving team workflows. Design experiences for web and mobile platforms (iOS and Android). Translate product and design metrics into feature improvements with business impact. Qualifications: 3–5+ years of experience in UX/UI or Product Design. Strong experience with Figma and design systems. Experience with UX research and interaction design. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
