Utility Services Technician I W
Under general supervision, the Utility Services Technician provides technical and data support for the Water Distribution and Wastewater Collection Departments.
ย Ensuring water and wastewater system quality and accuracy by field work, contractor/ vendor communication and direction.
ย Inspects and inputs documents, reports, CCTV data and work orders to various databases and data collection systems.
ย Serves as the technical and data support subject matter expert that may include but not limited to: CCTV repair, line locating, parts inventory or cross-connection devices, work order systems, web-based GIS solutions.
ย Providing knowledge of city infrastructure and ordinances to ensures proper compliance with all State Regulations.
ย Assists other departments by providing services and support.
ย Other duties as assigned
Formal Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
Relatable Work Experience: 4 years of work in a similar position with another utility or Class C Water Distribution or Class II Wastewater Collections license
Training (Licenses(s) and/or Certification(s): Valid Texas driver's license or the ability to obtain prior to employment.
Preferred Qualifications: Class C Water Distribution or Class II Wastewater Collections license

One year of full-time experience is define as 30 or more hours worked per week for 12 months. One year of higher education is defined as 30 credit hours completed at an accredited college or university.
ย Ability to work without supervision and to have good communication (verbal and written) skills.
ย Sound working knowledge of water and wastewater system operations, equipment and machinery.
ย Ability to learn technical and scientific concepts and procedures related to work requirements, such as reading electrical prints and detailed drawing of water and wastewater facilities.
ย Advanced mechanical skills, with ability to repair machinery and equipment and make judgments pertaining to repair needs.
ย Ability to effectively and safely operate and maintain vehicles, equipment, and tools and to understand all related operating features.
ย Subject to sitting and standing to perform essential functions in an office environment
ย Visual acuity, speech, and hearing; hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate office equipment
ย Regularly scheduled for 5-day, 40-hour workweek, Monday through Friday; overtime occasionally required.
ย Can be assigned ยon-callย for evenings and weekends, as required.
ย Exposure to potentially hazardous materials as well as working in confined spaces.
ย Must lift up to 80 lbs.
