Utility Locate Technician $24-$30/hr Forney, Texas
About the position
ELM Utility Services is seeking a Utility Locate Technician to work in the Forney, Texas area. The company provides paid training using their equipment and LaunchPoint software. Technicians provide a vital service to the community by marking underground utilities to prevent excavation damage to critical facilities like gas, electric, and communications systems. These facilities are essential for modern life, providing heat, light, and communication services.
Responsibilities
• Work independently outdoors utilizing a company-provided vehicle as a mobile office, working a route of locate requests daily.
• Correctly, safely, and efficiently locate and mark underground utilities, primarily electric and gas lines, using marking paint, flags, and whiskers. May also locate communications or other facilities depending on the area.
• Complete all necessary digital documentation and paperwork.
• Receive daily route and locate requests by logging in each morning from a vehicle/mobile office handheld smartphone; no need to come to an office daily.
• Respond to emergency calls in a timely manner as directed.
• Work periodic overtime and weekend on-call rotation may be requested.
Requirements
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen
• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid driver’s license in good standing
