Utility Development Program Manager
The Utility Development Program Manager will be responsible for the overall planning and execution of QTS utility capacity needs portfolio wide. This leader will ultimately be responsible for ensuring utility capacity is pre-positioned and delivered at each campus to support data centers by leading execution of all substation and utility build projects.This role will interface and collaborate with many critical stakeholders, including but not limited to: energy leaders responsible for utility contracts and negotiations, operations leaders managing load growth projections, and development team project leaders planning and building new data centers.Responsibilities, other duties may be assigned:Create and Implement strategy to ensure timely delivery of power delivery to development sites as needed to support existing and future leasesServe on the diligence team to advise and evaluate utility capacity feasibility of potential new sitesManagement of partners and consultants related to electrical substation design and constructionLead in standardization of utility substation design, including distribution feeds to multiple buildingsManage budgets and cost forecasting of utility projects, including construction and equipmentDevelop transformer and equipment specificationsProcure substation long lead equipment and transformersProcure and manage construction of multiple substation sites simultaneouslyTrack and report on status and schedule of power delivery timelinesBasic Qualifications: Five or more years of medium/high voltage construction managementFive or more years or more years experience running multiple projects at the same time or related professional experienceKnowledge of substation industry partners and transformer manufacturersBachelors degree in Electrical engineering, or equivalent experienceBe able to travel up to 50% of the time or as needed to support projects • Demonstrated experience working directly with executives and collaborating effectively across all levels of the organizationPreferred Qualifications: Ten plus years of electrical substation/grid connection design or constructionExperience as licensed electrician or engineer with focus on MV / HV workTechnical expertise in High and Medium Voltage Electrical DesignExperience managing large portfolio of workKnowledge, Skills & Abilities: Strong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to independently manage deadlines and support staffAbility to influence cross-discipline teamsAbility to be flexible and adapt to changing situations at a high growth companyAbility to prioritize, multitask, and deliver high quality work in tight timeframesFluency in English a requirement.
