Utility Development Program Manager

The Utility Development Program Manager will be responsible for the overall planning and execution of QTS utility capacity needs portfolio wide. This leader will ultimately be responsible for ensuring utility capacity is pre-positioned and delivered at each campus to support data centers by leading execution of all substation and utility build projects. We are open to hiring people based in the following locations for this position: UK, Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Spain & Finland. This role will interface and collaborate with many critical stakeholders, including but not limited to: energy leaders responsible for utility contracts and negotiations, operations leaders managing load growth projections, and development team project leaders planning and building new data centers. Responsibilities, other duties may be assigned: Create and Implement strategy to ensure timely delivery of power delivery to development sites as needed to support existing and future leases Serve on the diligence team to advise and evaluate utility capacity feasibility of potential new sites Management of partners and consultants related to electrical substation design and construction Lead in standardization of utility substation design, including distribution feeds to multiple buildings Manage budgets and cost forecasting of utility projects, including construction and equipment Develop transformer and equipment specifications Procure substation long lead equipment and transformers Procure and manage construction of multiple substation sites simultaneously Track and report on status and schedule of power delivery timelines Basic Qualifications: Five or more years of medium/high voltage construction management Five or more years or more years experience running multiple projects at the same time or related professional experience Knowledge of substation industry partners and transformer manufacturers Bachelors degree in Electrical engineering, or equivalent experience Be able to travel up to 50% of the time or as needed to support projects • Demonstrated experience working directly with executives and collaborating effectively across all levels of the organization Preferred Qualifications: Ten plus years of electrical substation/grid connection design or construction Experience as licensed electrician or engineer with focus on MV / HV work Technical expertise in High and Medium Voltage Electrical Design Experience managing large portfolio of work Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to independently manage deadlines and support staff Ability to influence cross-discipline teams Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing situations at a high growth company Ability to prioritize, multitask, and deliver high quality work in tight timeframes Fluency in English a requirement. Fluency in any of the following languages preferred, Finnish, Spanish, German, Italian.
