Utah Attorney
Jefferson Capital Systems, LLC is a leading purchaser and servicer of consumer charged-off receivables in North America and the United Kingdom. They are currently seeking an Utah-licensed Attorney to manage a high-volume docket of consumer collection matters throughout Utah, handling all aspects of litigation and ensuring compliance with consumer protection laws. Responsibilities Manage a high-volume docket of consumer collection matters throughout Utah Handle all aspects of litigation: from initial filings through post-judgment enforcement Conduct motion practice, hearings, and trials both virtually and in-person Negotiate settlements and communicate with pro se defendants and opposing counsel Collaborate with remote legal support staff to ensure timely and accurate filings Maintain strict compliance with state and federal consumer protection laws (FDCPA, CFPB) Conduct legal research and work on special projects as needed Skills Must be licensed and in good standing with the State Bar of Utah 1–3 years of relevant legal experience, preferably in litigation or collections Comfortable working independently in a remote environment Strong negotiation skills and excellent verbal and written communication Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational and time management skills Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and legal document management systems Demonstrated ability to adapt quickly, problem-solve, and work as a team player Willingness to travel regularly for court appearances across various Utah counties Familiarity with consumer collections and regulatory compliance is a plus Benefits Health Financial well-being Work/life balance Career benefits Company Overview Founded in 2002, Jefferson Capital is an analytically driven purchaser and manager of charged-off and insolvency consumer accounts with operations in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and Latin America.
