JOB SUMMARY:
The Biostatistical Solutions Senior Director will function as a subject matter expert (SME) for Data Monitoring Committee (DMC) operations providing key strategic input to top tier clients to drive business opportunities. The role requires a strategic mindset and the ability to communicate efficiently and effectively with internal stakeholders and clients. The role will partner with senior operational and business development leadership leveraging relationships and expertise to help drive the business. This position will provide strategic consultation and thought leadership to grow relationships with existing and prospective customers for WCG's DMC services.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in Statistics or related field
Advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in Statistics and/or related field and/or MBA preferred
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 10 years clinical trial experience; account management, client relationship management, or strategy development experience
A minimum 2 years experience client facing, consulting and advising
A member of professional societies, attends meetings of these societies, and is actively engaged industry events
Recognized thought leader in the biostatistical consulting and research space
Demonstrated ability to present and work directly with top tier strategic clients
Highly knowledgeable in biostatistics and/or DMCs operations delivery
Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills and ability to work with all levels of leadership, management and staff, both business and technical, as well as clients and vendors; ability to adapt communication style to the targeted audience
Strong consultative, presentation, analytical, and business communication skills (oral and written) are required
Self-motivated, with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and achieve measurable results
Ability to analyze data to build evidence-based strategies
Experience with bid-defenses and leading client presentations
Must be highly organized and detail oriented
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required.
Provide thought leadership and support to operations and business development teams to drive growth opportunities for DMC and biostatistical services
Serve as a subject matter expert on WCG's DMC and biostatistical services for internal and external stakeholders
Review and support proposals, budgets, and bid defenses to ensure alignment between operational processes and client expectations
Develops excellent internal and external working relationships to enable advanced business planning for project delivery and expansion of the portfolio
Assists in the creation and execution of strategies for new operational processes and solutions designed to meet current and emerging customer needs to achieve growth and high customer satisfaction
Maintain and assess industry trends, market conditions, company strengths, and areas for improvement related to DMC and biostatistical services
Set and manage client and prospective client expectations, including proactively coordinating with internal staff during service cycle for decision and, if necessary, prioritization
Plan, schedule, and manage governance meetings and KPI reporting with clients
Plan, schedule, and manage internal meetings with projects teams to establish consistency and client-specific best practices for delivering on key accounts
Remain abreast of current advances in biostatistics and DMC operations
Other duties as assigned by supervisor. These may, on occasion, be unrelated to the position described here.
