Position is remote; however, you must reside in one of the following locations in support of its business partners: IL, IA, MI, IN, KS, MN, MO, WI, NE. Travel expectation

Job Overview:

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Contract Manager (commercial construction) to join our Legal team. You will be responsible for the preparation, review, negotiation, and administration of routine and non-routine commercial contractual instruments and agreements. You should have a good grasp of contracting concepts, Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), and Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) requirements. The role requires analytical skills to support sound decision-making, presentation skills to communicate technical information effectively, and negotiation skills to achieve the desired contract outcomes.

In addition, you must be an organized self-starter with time management skills capable of prioritizing competing demands. You should possess solid judgment skills and operate with a high degree of integrity while maintaining confidentiality. Experience demonstrates effective communication and interpersonal skills in interacting with a broad range of stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

- Drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and finalizing routine and non-routine high volume of commercial contractual documents. Review complex solicitations and identify potential risks and regulatory considerations. Ability to quickly learn contract management tools, templates, methods and processes.

- Evaluate and analyze terms, conditions, and legal requirements within proposals, bids, and contract modifications

- Providing guidance and support to branch offices, management on contracts-related issues

- Analyzing corporate policies and regulations to ensure compliance with internal requirements.

- Identifying risk analysis factors to provide recommendations on matters related to contract terms and conditions

- Provide training on contract review topics, process, tools and policies to the organization

- Work with cross-functional teams to develop responses and propose alternative terms or language when necessary

- Ensure proposals and contract modifications comply with company policies, legal and regulatory requirements, and customer expectations

- Organize, manage and prioritize multiple proposal efforts concurrently

Required Education, Experience and Knowledge:

- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Law or relevant field.

- Minimum 5 years’ experience in drafting, reviewing and negotiating construction commercial contracts in a high-volume fast paced environment with changing requirements, schedules and priorities.

- Knowledge of legal principles applicable to contract review.

- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to identify risks and propose alternative solutions.

- Excellent negotiation skills.

- Proven ability to work independently as well as collaborating cross-functionally in a fast-paced sales environment.

- Strong communication skills both verbal and written. Ability to present to all key stakeholders.

- Excellent presentation and leadership skills.

- Familiarity with contracting concepts, Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Uniform Commercial Code (UCC), government policies and regulations, and other applicable laws governing procurement.

- Proficient with Microsoft office suite.

The pay range for this position is $71,300 - $122,300 and the annual incentive target is 10% of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.
