Position Overview

The Updates Editor, the primary owner of updates implementation and QA, maintains the currency, accuracy, and accessibility of Stukent courseware by planning and executing the revision (courseware updates) process for assigned titles year over year. This role collaborates closely with authors, instructional teams, and cross-functional partners to deliver high-quality, student-ready content on schedule.

Typical Job Duties

Edits and proofreads courseware and related resources to meet established quality standards for clarity, consistency, and correctness.
Implements and validates author-provided revisions and internal change requests in the designated locations, maintaining accurate version control and document history.
Ensures deliverables meet accessibility, instructional design, and copyright requirements.
Plans and manages multiple concurrent update projects, meeting interim milestones and final deadlines with minimal rework.
Maintains accurate and timely status updates in designated tracker systems.
Coordinates with authors and internal stakeholders to obtain required inputs, clarify questions, and resolve issues that could delay delivery.
Identifies risks and roadblocks early; communicates impacts, options, and recommended next steps to the Updates Manager.
Applies approved tools (including AI-assisted editing tools) to support efficiency and consistency while following company policy and data-handling guidelines.
Prepares handoff-ready files for downstream teams (e.g., design and video) and responds to feedback or corrections as needed.
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Note: The Updates Editor performs these essential functions on an ongoing basis, with workload varying by update season and project deadlines. Performance is evaluated based on quality, timeliness, accessibility compliance, and accuracy of project tracking and reporting.

Exceptional organizational and project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective cross-functional collaboration and author management.
Proficiency in content management systems, Google Drive, and Microsoft Office Suite.
