About the position
Wild River Veterinary Clinic is seeking an additional veterinarian to join their growing team. This is a unique professional development opportunity within a successful, steady-paced, and team-focused small animal practice. The position offers a multi-site opportunity at their sister location, Grantsburg Animal Hospital in Grantsburg, Wisconsin, providing additional opportunities and client reach. The practice boasts an ideal doctor-to-tech/assistant ratio, with a highly utilized technical staff ensuring doctors have support. The environment fosters a supportive team, with caseloads balanced between medical and surgical cases, suitable for a doctor who prefers a steady agenda. The clinic is located in Pine City, a charming small town with abundant recreational activities and is within commuting distance to the Twin Cities.
Responsibilities
β’ Examine and treat companion animals to detect and determine the nature of disease or injuries.
β’ Operate diagnostic equipment and collect diagnostic samples as well as interpret results.
β’ Advise pet owners on preventative care and treatment options.
β’ Perform surgery and prescribe medication as needed.
β’ Provide counsel around pet end of life care.
β’ Maintain patientsβ medical records.
β’ Ensures compliance with veterinary ethics and relevant statues, policies, and procedures.
Requirements
β’ Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree
β’ Experience with small animal medicine and surgery
β’ Ability to operate diagnostic equipment and interpret results
β’ Strong communication and client advisory skills
β’ Knowledge of veterinary ethics and relevant statutes, policies, and procedures
β’ Ability to maintain patient medical records
β’ Willingness to work at a sister location in Grantsburg, Wisconsin
