Underwriting Manager-AVP
About the position Responsibilities • Provide coaching and mentoring to a team of underwriters • Manage underwriting and rate strategies to promote profitable growth • Manage relationships with key internal stakeholders in order to identify opportunities for service improvement to ensure commercial viability and customer satisfaction • Underwrite and analyze new and renewal business within delegated authority levels • Develop and maintain relationships with distributors (agents and brokers) in support of business retention and new business and work with customers and distributors (agents & brokers) to determine their insurance-related needs and provide solutions • Support the organization's sales culture by being a trusted advisor for agents, brokers, and customers Requirements • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 5 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area • OR High School Diploma or Equivalent and 10 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area • OR Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 3 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area • OR Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 8 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area • AND Experience with Microsoft Office • OR High School Diploma or Equivalent and 7 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area for AVP level • OR High School Diploma or Equivalent and 14 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area for AVP level • OR Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 5 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area for AVP level • AND 2 or more years of management experience for AVP level Nice-to-haves • Bachelors Degree • Advanced knowledge of line/s of business • Ability to manage and build rapport with team • Excellent organizational, written, oral communication and presentation skills • Advanced knowledge of the insurance industry and the legal and regulatory guidelines • 6 months or more of supervisory or management experience • Established Producer relationships • Advanced skills in relationship building, active listening, needs analysis, and win-win negotiating • Strong presentation skills and a solutions and service orientation • CPCU • Advanced knowledge of product lines and insurance industry • Excellent skills in relationship building • Strong presentation skills • Results oriented Benefits • Comprehensive employee benefits package for employees and eligible dependents • Competitive compensation • Short-term incentive bonuses and merit increases Apply tot his job Apply tot his job
