The Underwriter I position involves underwriting SDI and related products for general contractors, requiring strong communication and negotiation skills to build relationships within the industry.ResponsibilitiesMarketing to producers to secure new and renewal businessReviewing of applications, terms and conditions, statement of values, loss history, price modeling, conducting appropriate research and working with SDI team colleagues to determine the degree of risk for each account based upon company SDI Regulations, Guidelines and underwriting authority grantedCoordinating with varied business divisions including Risk Engineering, Actuarial, Claims, Reinsurance, Accounting, Marketing, Regulatory and others internally that support our businessesCreating creative risk transfer solutions to unique customers’ needs while safeguarding AXA XL’s bottom lineSkillful, decisive and selective underwritingMaintaining a profitable portfolio of accountsCross-selling with other groups at AXA XL to drive greater product densityVarious other duties in support of AXA XL’s the SDI productYour focus is to establish robust relationship internally and externally and to act as the critical interface between the broker and clients and the company.
