Underwriter - Financial Lines

Allianz Commercial specializes in corporate property insurance and is seeking an Underwriter for their Financial Lines business. The role involves underwriting profitable new and renewal business, negotiating prices and terms, and developing strong relationships with clients and producers.ResponsibilitiesUnderwrite Profitable Business: Underwrite new and renewal accounts to meet top and bottom line targets, negotiate terms with key producer partners, manage capacity proactively, evaluate Natural Catastrophe Accumulation, and underwrite International Insurance ProgramsUnderwriting Approach and Compliance: Ensure underwriting aligns with LoB governance framework, achieve contract certainty, utilize global pricing tools, and manage FAC Reinsurance placementPolicy Documentation and Administration: Ensure accurate policy documentation, maintain files for each risk and transaction, and support policy administration and credit control processesMarket Management: Support acquisition of new business, retention of existing business, and liaise with MMC on market management initiativesRelationship Management: Represent AGCS positively in the market, involve functional areas in the underwriting process, and maintain strong relationships with key producers, clients, and stakeholdersSkills1-3 years of experience and a proven track record in underwriting profitable business within Financial Lines (specifically financial institutions), with a robust understanding of LoB products and portfolioBasic risk assessment and management skills, with the ability to evaluate natural hazards relevant to LoBGood understanding of regional/local insurance markets and competitor landscapeAnalytical skills to analyze complex data, communication and presentation skills, and influencing skills to motivate othersBachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Insurance Management, or Business Administration, with progress towards professional insurance qualifications (e.g., CII)Fluent in English, with proficiency in using office applications like PowerPoint, Excel, and WordAbility to utilize AI tools to support day-to-day tasks, improve efficiency and contribute to data-driven decision makingBenefitsAnnual performance-based cash incentive awardsGenerous bonus schemePensionPrivate healthcareGenerous parental leave benefitsCompany OverviewAllianz Commercial is the center of expertise and global line of Allianz Group for insuring mid-sized businesses, large enterprises and specialist risks.
