About the position

The Underwriter position at State Farm involves providing quality customer interactions and products through simplified processes and technologies. The role focuses on analyzing and reviewing lines of business to assist agents in achieving a profitable book of business while ensuring compliance with company policies and underwriting guidelines. This position is essential in supporting agents and their customers by delivering accurate and timely guidance on insurance coverage, pricing, and risk management.

Responsibilities
• Analyze and review lines of business to develop recommendations for agents.

• Serve as a resource to agents regarding company programs, loss mitigation, and marketing opportunities.

• Ensure proper pricing, placement, and termination of risk within assigned authority levels.

• Communicate clearly and professionally with agents and customers.

• Handle inbound calls and chats from agents, claims partners, and policyholders.

• Review and process applications and policy changes according to established guidelines.

• Guide customers through navigating existing resources such as Rate Manuals and Underwriting Guidelines.

Requirements
• Bachelor's degree is strongly preferred.

• 2 years of customer service experience.
,
• Limited Lines License is required.
,
• Strong computer skills to handle multiple applications in a fast-paced environment.

• Experience in insurance underwriting or related fields.
