Title: Underwriter Allied Healthcare
Function
This function is responsible for applying knowledge and understanding of coverage forms, rating plans, and guidelines in the selection and pricing of individual risks. This role will ensure adequate pricing of individual risks based on the accuracy of information and adherence to company underwriting standards and philosophies.
Role
This role will combine underwriting and technical skills within management liability. The role will be responsible for managing production both in a primary and excess space for a growing product to achieve profitability goals. Success in the role requires proficiency with interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment, which upholds adherence to underwriting standards.
The role will report to the VP Miscellaneous & Allied Healthcare. This is a fantastic opportunity to join Ategrity, a growing business where you will serve as a valuable asset to the Underwriting team.
Responsibilities
Underwriting
ā¢ Assess new and renewal accounts to determine acceptability based on underwriting guidelines and authority granted while achieving profitability targets.
ā¢ Create, analyze and interpret data from various systems and underwriting resources.
ā¢ Responsible for monitoring production, profitability and maintaining broker relationships.
ā¢ Effectively communicate (written/verbal) information to both internal and external customers to ensure our standards of excellence are maintained.
ā¢ Develop and execute marketing plan aimed at producing new business opportunities and retaining existing business
ā¢ Develop, market and maintain and enhance existing broker relationships
Qualifications/Requirements
ā¢ 2+ years preferred underwriting experience in the Allied Healthcare or MPL vertical
ā¢ Demonstrated knowledge of management liability underwriting, risk and partner management
ā¢ Strong interpersonal and team building skills
ā¢ Effective written and verbal communication skills
ā¢ Ability to maintain strong internal and external business relationships
ā¢ Well organized with attention to detail
ā¢ B.A./B.S degree from an accredited College or University
