UA Associate - E&S Casualty

Zurich North America is currently hiring a UA Associate to join the E&S Casualty team. In this role, you will support experienced Underwriters in the review and analysis of risks, while applying your research and analytical skills to assess risk and grow your career.ResponsibilitiesReviews, evaluates, and summarizes risk exposures, controls, loss history, and financial condition to aid underwriting decisions around submission acceptance or declinationFollows instructions from Underwriters in areas of policy rating, subjective pricing, policy construction, coverages & exclusions, mandatory forms, etc. to accurately quote and issue policiesProvides account servicing support in collaboration with Underwriter and Manager, with responsibility for end-to-end servicing processes for new business, renewals, and endorsements for basic to moderately complex business and productsResponds to written, verbal telephone inquiries appropriately and on time under close supervision by Underwriter and/or Manager. Working collaboratively with assigned underwritersSupports Underwriter with broker/agent/distributor/customer interactions by providing basic customer service skillsSkillsBachelor's degree and no prior experience in the Administrative, Customer Service, Financial Services, Risk Management, or Insurance areaZurich Certified Insurance Apprentice, including Associate Degree and no prior experience in the Administrative, Customer Service, Financial Services, Risk Management, or Insurance areaHigh School Diploma or Equivalent and 2 or more years of experience in the Administrative, Customer Service, Financial Services, Risk Management, or Insurance areaKnowledge of data collection and analysisMicrosoft Office experienceInsurance industry knowledgeKnowledge of processing, rating and policy management systems used in the insurance industryStrong verbal and written communication skillsSuperior skills in relationship building, active listening with customers and coworkersCustomer service experienceEnjoys working with details and providing accurate data in a timely mannerSelf-directed to meet deadlinesMulti-tasking skills5% TravelBenefitsShort-term incentive bonus of 5%Competitive payComprehensive benefits for employees and their familiesCompany OverviewZurich American Insurance is an international commercial property-casualty insurance provider.
