Job description: TRUCKING DISPATCHER
We at Preferred Carrier Of California are looking for two reliable and professional dispatchers to help with our Over the road drivers. Dispatcher will be responsible for 10-15 drivers.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
ā¢ Responsible for communicating with the truck drivers and customers via phone or email for dispatching.
ā¢ Responsible for relaying work orders, route rescheduling and assisting the driver with any inquires.
ā¢ Responsible for keeping track of the driver's location and number of hours driven to make sure he leaves and arrive on time for scheduled freight appointments.
ā¢ Dispatched drivers on contracted loads by relaying pickup and delivery information as well as routing.
ā¢ Minimizing empty miles, maximizing revenue generating miles
ā¢ Updating board throughout the day with equipment and load info
ā¢ Maintained professional relationships with customers via phone and email.
ā¢ Reporting detention, OOS & V immediately.
ā¢ Staying up to date on freight trends
ā¢ Knowing backhaul/head-haul markets and the relevant pricing
ā¢ Completing new customer contracts
ā¢ Pre-planning your assigned drivers
ā¢ Computer proficient (Outlook, Word, Excel)
ā¢ Great organizational skills
ā¢ Bilingual preferred
ā¢ In office position (No remote positions open)
REQUIREMENTS:
ā¢ Minimum 1 year of transportation experience
ā¢ Possess strong communication and negotiation skills and be able to work under pressure
HOURS & COMPENSATION:
ā¢ These are full time positions
ā¢ Am shift and Pm shift
ā¢ Start pay $16/hr. (to be determined by experience)
